The New Menard Press

Welcome to The New Menard Press,

The Menard Press (1969–2009) began as a little magazine founded by Anthony Rudolf in 1969 and published its first chapbook in 1971.

In the course of its existence, it published more than 150 titles, including important works by Yves Bonnefoy, Osip Mandelstam, Octavio Paz and the first English-language edition of Primo Levi’s Poems, and an influential series of political pamphlets by Sir Martin Ryle and Lord Zuckerman among others.

The New Menard Press is the UK  imprint of indie-press HetMoet, founded in Amsterdam in 2018 by writer Elte Rauch, who lives and works between the United Kingdom and The Netherlands.

Our portfolio of authors ranges from timeless classics such as Virginia Woolf, Audre Lorde and, to upcoming poets and novelist like Daniel Kramb, Nadia de Vries and Alvina Chamberland, including translations.

Our books are sold in independent bookshops, across the United Kingdom and Europe.  Do you own a shop or you want to order copies from overseas? Don't hesitate to contact to us.
